“Working on my novel” is the title of a book by Cory Arcangel that poignantly prints tweets from various writers saying that they are working on their novel.

However, at that exact moment in time, they weren’t working on their novel. They were tweeting.

The book explores the concept of instant communication and distraction in a light-hearted way. But on a deeper level, aren’t we all kidding ourselves that we’re working on our novel when by all accounts we’re just messing around with something less important?
