Reading business books does not improve your business.

Reading business books gives you all the information, but that information is no use at all if you do nothing with it. And that’s the problem, that the knowledge requires execution – it requires taking it and applying it to your situation.

But here’s another problem: the business books you read all relate to different stages of running a business. The advice that’s right for a startup won’t be right for an owner that’s looking to sell and vice versa.

So before picking up any business book at all you have to really know who you are and what you want. Self-awareness, then more knowledge, then execution.
