The courage to be you

The fastest way to have healthy relationships is to tell people what you want.

The fastest way to have unhealthy relationships is to be passive-aggressive.

I shared a video about this the other day. I got this comment back:

Pushy, opinionated, not nice.

Are we afraid of being called these words?

Or actually, do pushy, opinionated people who put themselves first create the best lives for themselves and the people they love?

Consider this phrase:

She's full of herself.

It's meant as an insult. It means someone is self-obsessed, too big for their own boots, has an inflated sense of self.

It needs a rebrand.

Because being full of yourself is the best thing that you can be.

I want you to be full of yourself. So full of yourself that you can tell people what you want. And they can tell you what they want.

And you can coexist. In a happy, healthy, refreshing relationship with no subtext, no hidden meanings, and zero passive aggression.

We're all so busy tiptoeing around each other, guessing what the other person feels, drawing our own conclusions, and no one wins.

And it's not the way.

Have the courage to be full of yourself. Have the courage to ask people what you want. Have the courage to put yourself first.

Tell the people you love to do it too.
