Here are some unsolicited predictions for the next twelve months. In October 2026 you can see if I was right.
- Private communities. You won't find your next breakthrough business move on YouTube or inside a course. You'll find it in a paid, private community. That's where the realness happens. That's where the gold is shared before it's mainstream. We'll all be part of at least one.
- Keeping it real. Polished presenter-speak won't cut it for trust and authority. We'll want to see people behind the scenes, with their messy hair, mis-spoken words and raw first drafts. We don't want to see perfect.
- High-ticket only. A friend runs a software business the same size as mine. But on top of his 3k paid users he has 20k free ones. The free ones take up 99% of his time and energy. Too much. Freemium will go out of fashion as business owners don't want the hassle.
- Mega gurus. Everyone's building a personal brand. Everyone is sharing content. Everybody's a somebody. But the winners will be those who have the strongest beliefs, shared the most widely. Content is not king in 2026. Distribution is.
- Newsfeeds are drugs. We'll categorise newsfeeds along with alcohol, addictive drugs, sugar and caffeine. Think "scrollers anonymous" and practical methods of weaning people off their addiction. Tech companies will have to reassess their approach.
Which is already happening in your world?
Which can you see coming true?
