I let a top personal brand consultant roast my personal brand.

We recorded the whole thing.

Chris Do is founder and host of The Futur and a true expert in this space. He has 2.6 million YouTube subscribers, a tonne of knowledge, and was in the personal branding game before it was cool.

Since I joined The Futur as cohost we've been recording weekly on different topics.

This week's topic: me (and my personal brand 🙀)

First, Chris first defined what makes a true personal brand:

1. You're a king or queen maker

Beyond just serving you, your personal brand makes other people rich, famous, or whatever they want to be. Others become more influential just by being around you.

2. You can print money

Not literally (obviously), but you can create revenue streams outside your normal work just because people genuinely want to support whatever you do. You sell effortlessly.

3. Your brand adds value to anything it touches

When you collaborate or put your name on something, it becomes more valuable. You have transferable brand assets that are transferable across products.

Next, the important part.

We walked through the entire exercise of building a strong personal brand, no matter where you are in your business or career.

Chris included key things to think about (dropping masks, connecting dots, turning a negative into a positive, owning mistaken identity) and grilled me on each.

For me, this was terrifying.

For you, I hope it's enlightening as you show up online and get famous for your work.

The episode is live and ready for you to enjoy.

Leave a comment and let me know what resonates. I read every one.
