If you want good things to come into your life, you have to make room for them.
But how much space do you have?
Space in your calendar: for new invitations, experiments and opportunities, and whatever you feel like doing at that exact moment.
Space in your head: for new thoughts, ideas and brainwaves. For connecting the dots and finding answers that were there all along.
Space in your closet: for new clothes that make you feel confident and fit the most fit and in-shape version of you.
Last week I chatted about how to really get what you want, on my friend Stephanie's podcast: Strategy & Tragedy.
She asked, "what if you don't have time to slow down and make space?"
I said:
- If your inbox is overwhelming you, select all and hit delete. Everything important will make its way back.
- If your to-do list is controlling your day, tear it up. Whatever actually matters won't be forgotten that easily.
- If you never have anything to wear, throw out or donate everything that doesn't make you feel 10/10.
- If you're too busy, cancel plans and don't make new ones. Put your out of office on. Turn your phone off.
Drastic, right? But required.
Most of what's vying for your attention is costing your potential.
See what arrives when it doesn't have to fight its way through.
Feel the clarity you get from fewer obligations.
Make space for magic.
