Forget everything you know about productivity.
There are only two ways to operate and here they are: Dream or do.
You're dreaming or doing. A dreamer or a doer. Nothing in between.
Doer:
Doing the work you love, using your superpowers
Headphones on, mic on, tapping away in flow
Aligned, focused, taking action, executing.
Maybe this is first thing in the morning. In specific blocks throughout the day. Or late at night when everyone has gone to sleep.
Sit down, laptop open, work your magic. You're a machine.
Doer is not:
Admin, running errands, ticking busywork off your list.
If it doesn't need to be you, don't do it. Get a VA. Outsource. AI-ify. Demand better for yourself and your golden hours of execution.
For every other hour of the day, there's dreaming.
Dreamer:
Exploring, hanging out, being in nature
Journaling, doodling, getting lost in a city
Meditating, exercising, emptying your mind
Following a stream of consciousness without judgment
There are only vague plans. You're open to possibility. Not trying to control or keeping score. Surrendering to the world and following along.
Dreamer is switching off. Letting go. At peace. Happy to be.
Dreamer is not:
Glued to phone. Reading news. Consuming the latest podcast on 2x speed. Checking your sports watch. Pretending to be productive.
Dreamer is not analysing. Or getting annoyed at slow walking people. Or gossiping, making small talk, creating drama to fill the time.
Dreamer is peacefully processing. Not in a rush. Gathering information ready to go.
Dreamer and doer don't compete.
They both have a place in your day.
The dreaming sets up the doing. The doing earns the dreaming.
Switch off to switch on. Rest to reconnect. No action without purpose.
Every moment of every day you have a choice:
Dream or do.
